Funom Oti Wenyang

Funom Oti Wenyang was born on August 21st, 2000. She is from Kwoi, Kaduna State, Nigeria, where she resides. She was diagnosed with autism when she was nine years old. She still has challenges with social and communication skills.

Funom’s love for art was noticed very early as a child because of the way she  her colours from crayons to paint pictures. She grew into making intricate patterns and designs with pens on her own. Her beautiful smile comes on immediately when she sees her colourful pens and paints that she works with. She loves drawing and painting, which gives her calmness when she is overwhelmed by her environment. She also loves sewing, which she is trying to develop.

Patrick’s speech and languages centre has encouraged her artwork through therapy and the provision of art materials. She participated in the PureSouls Learning Foundation and Patrick’s Art exhibition in 2023 and 2024, also participated in 2025 to celebrate World Autism Day. She also, has participated  in the art exhibition of No Child Left Behind and World Disability Day all held in Abuja on April and December 2025.
